In early 2009, mobile internet traffic accounted for only 0.9% of all internet traffic, according to Mary Meeker in the 2013 Internet Trends publication. Today, US internet traffic on mobile devices accounts for 15% – and this is through cellular connections, without considering wireless connections, which is increasingly predominant on university campuses and in urban areas.
